Willie Nelson Sculpture – In Progress
I’m working on a sculpture of Willie Nelson for reasons that are hush, hush right now. I haven’t sculpted in 25+ years and am really enjoying it. Keep in mind these picture show the sculpture in progress.
Watch Hugh Laurie: Let Them Talk on PBS. See more from Great Performances.
Hugh Laurie, known from TVs medical drama “House,” visits Historic Maggie Maes while shooting a show for PBS’ “Great Performances”. Laurie tells viewers every man is entitled to one pilgrimage in his life and this includes a long drive on his way to New Orleans with many famous music stops along the way. Historic Maggie Mae’s in Austin, Texas, was on his list, with the amazing Miss Lavelle White performing, who can vocalize a mean harmonica with only her mouth. Watch this amazing episode of Let Them Talk to see it all!
I sat in on on the Maggie Mae’s in Austin portion of this taping about a year or so ago. I’m not in the video, but my artwork is quite prominent through the Maggie Mae’s portion. Cool! Great Performance too ; – ) Robert
Rodeo Austin Arts Committee
Just finished my first year as chairman of the Competitive Arts Committee for Rodeo Austin. Our final act was to judge and place 140 entrants and have a Q and A with attending students. I’d Like to thank Dalhart Windberg, Sam Yeates, Gilbert Sauceda, Mike Etie, and Will Harris for judging the digital art, photography and traditional art. Thanks to Roger Beasley Audi for sponsoring event and supplying a showcase at the Quattro Gallery.

University of Texas Retired Jersey Numbers
The University of Texas retired the jersey numbers of two of the three players included in my newly autographed UT All American Point Guard print. That got me to thinking about who else is in that club. So I did a bit of research and came up with the following list. Of the fourteen, I’ve painted all but two.

Dallas Mavericks Championship Painting and Prints Coming Soon
The Maverick’s “Won and DONE!” Championship painting is in progress. It’s has some pretty cool elements if I say so myself; an evening city scape, hands on the trophy, Dirk Nowitzki game-two winning finger roll, Kidd and Terry. I’ll post pictures soon. The painting is available (contact me if interested at 512-444-7661 or hurst@adamnfineartist.com). Prints of the artwork will be available for pre-order soon. In the mean time go to Facebook to make suggestion on elements to include in the artwork.
