Hey Sports Fans,

Lance Berkman's TSHOF 2009 Induction Artwork
I finally finished the paintings of the 2009 Texas Sports Hall of Fame induction class. This was a tough year for me. A large class (10 inductees) and a moved up date (from March to Feb 8th) made for a challenging deadline. Additionally, I probably made the images more complex than needed. But enough whining already! (He admonishes self.) The paintings are done and it’s time to prepare for the actual induction. There will be two pre-induction receptions this year in addition to the February 8th banquet; one for Kim Mulkey and one for Lance Berkman. For more information about the events contact me or go the the
Texas Sports Hall of Fame web site.
We are currently taking orders for the limited edition autographed inductee prints. Pre-publication price on the Lance Berkman print is $125.00; all others are $95.00 except Harvey Martin. You can pick your number (except numbers 1 and 30) at this time. To view and order the art go to the links below, or phone 512-444-7661, or email hurst@adamnfineartist.com. The
Armadillo Christmas Bazaar starts VERY soon (Dec. 11th). I have lots of new music artwork for this show. For the first time we will have an original artwork bin. Included will be pieces that have not been framed and that will be offered at a much lower price than usual. These include some older music images, such as one I did of Nancy Wilson of Heart (from a photo I took at a concert that Van Wilks opened for them) and Sue Foley (from a photo shoot I did with her), and some brand new images like,
Eddie Vedder,
Bob Marley, and Jimi Hendrix. First come, first served. There are some VERY cool pieces here.

Good Morning Campers!
Headed off to the Kingwood Country Club for a golf tournament benefiting the Texas Bowl. Going to see a bunch old friends and acquaintances from the Oilers, Astros, UT Longhorns, and other teams. Looking forward to seeing Cat Osterman’s golf game. I suspect it’s pretty good. I usually get paired up with Ed Biles and Vernon Perry (lots of laughs with those two) at Kenny Houston’s tournament (same organizer); we’ll see what happens here. It’s nice and cool/cold this week. I’ve never swung a club in a hoodie. It could be an interesting day.

Grant Teaff by Robert Hurst (Baylor University)
Hi Guys and Dolls,
Here’s my recap on the Grant Teaff Artwork Unveiling at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame, which was held last Thursday (September 10, 2009). For those of you not familiar with Grant Teaff, he’s a legendary Baylor University football coach.
The event was fun and went well. Approximately one third of the print edition and the original painting were snapped up. My understanding is that the painting will be presented to Baylor University, where it will reside. Coach Teaff was quite gracious and I enjoyed meeting many of his friends and family. Coach and Mrs. Teaff were well pleased with the artwork and Mrs. Teaff said that I was the first artist who captured Coach Teaff’s nose correctly. Portraits are my specialty so I was pleased to hear I got Coach right. If you, or any Baylor Bear fans you know, are interested in obtaining artwork that celebrates Baylor University football go to this page on my web site to view and / or order it. I’m excited to have artwork that reflects the great tradition of the Baylor Bears. Teaff has signed the prints so it makes this piece extra special. This lithograph will be sure to please any Baylor fan. Continue reading 'Baylor and Coach Grant Teaff Artwork Unveiling'»
If you need to avoid me this weekend, the best place NOT to be will be at the Arlington Convention Center August 21 – 23. I’ll be working on a couple of commissions (one of Baylor Coach Grant Teaff and one for Rodeo Austin) and pestering some Dallas Cowboys. I’ll be slinging paint, so wear your rain slicker. Not responsible for “contact splatter”. Oh and BTW, I will have lots of great Dallas Cowboy artwork, prints, lithographs, paintings – both autographed and not – with me.
